Lib Dem candidate for University, James Hawketts.

Local resident and Lib Dem campaigner James Hawketts will be standing again in the local elections for both Norwich and Norfolk in 2026.

James Hawketts is the Lib Dem candidate for University in both the Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council elections in 2026. This will be his fourth consecutive local election as candidate here, having cemented himself as the main opposition candidate in Earlham over the past few election cycles, regularly finishing second behind Labour.

James is proud of his record of trying to make change from opposition, regularly working all-year-round; putting out newsletters, running surveys, and canvassing local opinion. However, he thinks he could be so much more effective for the people of Norwich as a fully-fledged local councillor.

As the only party who have regularly kept contact with people in Earlham since the last local elections were cancelled, James is asking for support again in both sets of local elections we face this year.
