Dental crisis – Lib Dems call for action
Your local Liberal Democrat team are calling for urgent action to improve access to local dentists. Many residents across Norwich face long wait times, are forced to go private, or even resort to DIY dentistry as the lack of NHS dentists continues to get worse. Lib Dem candidate for Norwich South at the 2024 general election, Sean Bennett (left), said:

Sean Bennett
“The painful truth is that, for many people, they simply can’t get a dentist appointment. Going to the dentist used to be something people dreaded - now it feels like you’ve struck lucky if you can get a appointment. Dentists are walking away from the service because the support isn’t there for them, leaving patients with nowhere to turn. We need urgent action to help fill the gaps before the service rots away any further. We need to ensure dentists are properly recognised and fresh resources are provided for our NHS to end the long suffering of local patients.”
Lib Dem MPs are fighting hard to get government approval for a new dentistry school at UEA, halting Norfolk's decline into a dental desert.
