Changes to Eaton Bus Services
Konectbus have announced changes to their 5B service in Eaton from 1st September. The 5B will once again operate as far as Eaton only and then return to the City Centre. Konectbus say this is in part due to feedback from residents about the number of buses operating through the estate and partly the low take up of passengers using the extension to the NNUH.
Also, the current 10 and 10A routes were put out to tender when First decided not to continue with the contract. Konectbus has been successful in winning the tender with an alteration to the route at Cringleford and Eaton Park combining the two into a circular 9 route operating every 60 minutes.
Cllr Caroline Ackroyd, a frequent bus user commented,

Cllr Caroline Ackroyd
“I am very grateful to the Network Manager of Konectbus who is prepared to review opportunities to improve the bus services. I hope that residents and visitors will take this opportunity to help the buses keep to time and route by parking carefully and thoughtfully so as not to block the narrow roads.”
Another piece of good news for the UEA students and residents near the 25 route is that the Night Bus to the UEA from the City Centre operated by First has been successful in its first trial year with high usage. This means it will continue to run without subsidy.
